Building bridges... one post at a time
In 2011, I surveyed the blogosphere and saw that there didn't seem to be a forum bringing together legal translation practitioners, lawyers working internationally and/or interested in language and translation issues, and academics. So I designed and placed online "From Words to Deeds: Translation and the Law".
The blog contains resources, training initiatives, conference notices, guest posts from a wide range of contributors, a few book reviews, some informative articles, the occasional job opportunity... and a regular Monday Smile feature too. From its tentative beginnings, it now has around 16,000 visits a month, from 219 countries at the last count. Even more encouragingly, readers engage and interact online, and I am delighted to regularly come across them personally at events all over Europe.
